Rob Curnock for Congress

Dear Central Texans,

Rob Curnock

It’s clear today, perhaps more than ever, that Washington politicians are out of step with our traditional Texas values. Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the Democrats in Congress are moving with alarming speed to implement the “change” Obama promised in the 2008 election. With every vote to bail out the auto unions, every vote to affirm massive national debt that mortgages our future, and every vote in favor of nationalized health care, our congressman tells Washington and the world that Central Texans support this kind of government interference.

I for one have had enough.

The answer to the question so many of you have been asking us recently is, “Yes, I am running again in 2010, to finish the job we started last fall!”

In 2008 we ran a strong campaign against an incumbent who has stayed too long in the culture of Washington. The odds were overwhelming. Despite wide support across all areas of the district, in the end, our grassroots efforts came up short against more than $2 million spent by our opponent – most of it raised from special interest groups and others outside the district.

Ours was the closest U.S. House race in Texas. The lessons learned from the 2008 race for District 17 Representative are clear. The people of this district won’t stand for the kinds of things Barack Obama is already doing in Washington. While it won’t be easy, this district can send a conservative to Congress who will stand and join the fight for our values, our way of life and our children’s future. Most of all, we deserve a congressman who will fight for us not just when it’s popular or easy, but when facing strong adversity, as we did in 2008.

We must start today if we are to be heard in the halls of government. We need your support now to continue the momentum we built in the 2008 election. Please join us in raising our voices to tell Washington, “Enough is enough!”
