While Curnock has voted in Central Texas for more than 20 years, his runoff opponent did not vote in the 2008 general election in District 17, and voted in the Democrat primary in 2008.

"For many years, I have consistently voted in support of strong conservative candidates in local, state and federal races," Curnock said. "I believe ..."

Our current congressman has said he will vote against the bill, which is wise given the outcry going back to July from citizens of District 17. All of our energy and work, letters and protests, town halls and telephone calls have combined to get one "no" vote.

It's nice, but it's not enough.

2010 is a Census year, and many Americans are receiving a letter in the mail from the Census Bureau about the upcoming process. There are two major problems with this letter.

"Our campaign has received a letter from a former campaign worker, from our 2008 campaign, demanding payment of money and threatening to approach the media during early voting in the primary election. The claim for payment of money is completely without merit. The timing of this claim, and the suggestion that paying these unwarranted amounts can resolve things 'quickly and quietly,' sure seems like extortion, so we have turned all information on this issue over to the proper authorities."

Congress just expanded the ceiling in December and they have already spent their way past $12.4 trillion in debt. Maybe it takes a true small business owner, not a Washington insider, to see it -- this is an absurd way to run a government, and it has to end.

This legislation, which will have a profound impact on every single American for years to come, is being put together by a handful of big-government proponents, and they don't want us to know what they are doing.
