Rob Curnock, Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, will be in Johnson County to celebrate Burleson Founder’s Day, from 9 am – 6 pm Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in Old Town Burleson.

“Burleson has a long history that dates back to 1881,” Curnock said. “It is an honor to celebrate that heritage with fellow Central Texans, for a town named after Dr. Rufus Burleson, a long-time president of my alma mater, Baylor University.”

Volunteers interested in participating should contact volunteer director Kim Kimble at volunteer@robcurnockforconress.com.

Curnock, the 2008 Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, came within a few percentage points of upsetting a longtime liberal Democrat congressman, who outspent the Republican by almost $2 million in the race. Curnock’s 2010 campaign is already well underway, buoyed by wide support from grassroots volunteers across the District.
