Rob Curnock, Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, will celebrate the 18th annual McGregor Founder’s Day Festival by participating in the parade at 10 am Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009.

The event commemorates the 127th anniversary of the founding of McGregor.

Volunteers interested in walking with Rob should meet at 303 S Main in McGregor Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Look for the maroon pickup.

Curnock, the 2008 Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, came within a few percentage points of upsetting a longtime liberal Democrat congressman, who outspent the Republican by almost $2 million in the race. Curnock’s 2010 campaign is already well underway, buoyed by wide support from grassroots volunteers across the District.
