Rob Curnock, Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, will celebrate the Czech heritage of West in Central Texas in the Westfest Parade at 10 am Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, in downtown West.

“Central Texans have long, proud cultural histories, and the Czech history of West is well known throughout the state,” Curnock said. “I’m looking forward to joining them and thousands of visitors to their community to celebrate Westfest.”

Curnock, the 2008 Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, came within a few percentage points of upsetting a longtime liberal Democrat congressman, who outspent the Republican by almost $2 million in the race. Curnock’s 2010 campaign is already well underway, buoyed by wide support from grassroots volunteers across the District.
