Rob Curnock, Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, will join Central Texans in celebrating Independence Day at several events during the July 4th weekend.

Curnock will walk in the Burleson July 4th Parade at 9 am in downtown Burleson, and will then speak at the Burleson Tea Party immediately following. More information is available online at http://burlesonteaparty.blogspot.com/. He also will speak at the Cleburne Tea Party at Hulen Park in Cleburne; for more information, contact the Cleburne Tea Party organizers at cleburneteaparty2009@yahoo.com.

Sunday, July 5, Curnock will walk in the Keene 200th Annual 4th of July Parade and Celebration. For more information, visit the City of Keene online at http://www.keenetx.com/.

“I look forward to celebrating our liberty and independence with Central Texans this weekend,” Curnock said. “This year, perhaps more than some, we remember the commitment our Founding Fathers made to securing our life and liberty in 1776. Today it seems like many in Washington have lost sight of the vision of a country where the government exists to serve the people, not the other way around.”

Curnock, the 2008 Republican candidate for Congress in District 17, came within a few percentage points of upsetting a longtime liberal Democrat congressman, who outspent the Republican by almost $2 million in the race. Curnock’s 2010 campaign is already well underway, buoyed by wide support from grassroots volunteers across the District.
