Dear Central Texans,
Thanks to all of you who supported us, with your time, your money, and your votes. While we didn't come out on top this time around, we ran a very close race.
Ours was the closest U.S. House race in Texas. It's clear that our conservative values are important and deserve representation at the highest levels of government. Let's remember that while we may not win every election, it's critical that we continue to fight for our values and make sure that all of our representatives know what we expect from them. And if they don't live up to those expectations, that we hold them accountable in 2010 for the decisions they make in the next 2 years.
In spite of overwhelming odds and an enormous disparity of finances, this Congressional race was incredibly close. We were able to demonstrate that, in spite of "conventional wisdom" ... with even a little support, this seat is very winnable for a candidate willing to stand on consistent conservative values and an ability to express those values clearly. As a result, I have been encouraged by many to stay engaged in this race ... whether in a "Special Election" or the 2010 cycle. Although we don't know exactly what the future holds ... we are keeping our organization intact, laying the groundwork to raise serious money and are ready to ramp up at a moment's notice if that's what we're called to do.
Thanks again for your support and encouragement. I look forward to working with you in the near future.
